The Botswana Council for the Disabled is an umbrella body for and of NGOs providing Services to persons with Disabilities in Botswana

Botswana Council for the Disabled (BCD) was established in 1980 as not for profit non-governmental organization (NGO). This body came into being as a result of studies commissioned by government of Botswana; following the National Development plan 1973-1978 declaration which declared insufficient attention paid to people with disability in Botswana.

  • To provide comprehensive information and instrumental guidance on policies, laws.
  • To empower and create awareness to Persons with Disabilities, their families, care givers and the public about their rights and services.Suscipit Sagittis
  • To guide implementation of associated programmes enshrined in the legal framework and pronunciation
